“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” –Albert Einstein
What a journey! From AI to smart cities. It is certainly a module that I can envision helping me soon, especially in these uncertain times when the world has turned to technology.

My final blog will be using the Atkins and Murphy’s (1993) cyclical model of reflection. I chose this model because I believe the five headings help to provide a detailed and thorough reflection.

Awareness
Initially, the idea of blogging and uploading my blogs for all peers to see and comment on was extremely daunting. However, after the first blog, I realised how supportive and interesting people within the module are. Also, the comments which were left put me at ease. At this point, I started to settle and enjoy the module.
The situation
The online learning with no lectures was a new prospect to me, however, I thoroughly enjoyed the process. Especially the MOOC discussions which highlighted current affairs in the digital world. Working through the MOOC at the start of the module, thoroughly prepared me for the future weekly work on the ELE. Out of all the material which I worked through on the MOOC, I found the article about the future of products such as self-reading books, the most relevant and appealing article to get involved within the discussion section.
Analysis
My initial assumption was that lectures were carried out through Skype or Microsoft teams, but I was mistaken. Every few weeks, I would attend a seminar with Lisa, where she would answer questions and give us demonstrations. I found this more useful than weekly face to face lectures. The MOOC and ELE alternative study made life flexible for my timetable.

Moreover, since COVID-19, the module was not affected because the module is based on digitalisation.
Interactions R Us
Being able to gain knowledge from fellow peers is an important aspect of this module. Having discussions and sharing ideas with peers helped me understand the topics better, also seeing so many different examples of people’s ideal field of work was intriguing. The comments which I left on blogs allowed me to further research and develop my critical thinking and analysis. Critical thinking was a previous struggle of mine, however, commenting on peer’s blog posts has helped me overcome the struggle.

Lastly, I would like to extend my gratitude to Lisa, Wendy, and Stavros for equipping me with the knowledge and the tools to be able to contribute to the ever-changing digital world.

“To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day.”
